A last minute goal from Bromley cost Thurrock two points after they dominated the second half at Hayes Lane.

Bromley did dominate the early exchanges and took the lead after 23 minutes when Ryan Hall slotted home from close range after Lee Flynn lost the ball on the halfway line and Ashley-Paul Robinson played a great ball into the box. Thurrock scored a remarkable equaliser on the half hour when Alex Campana’s cross was smashed into his own net inexplicably by Swaibi.

Thurrock were all of a sudden well on top and Fola Orinolishe shot straight at Gareth Williams when well placed. Moments later Orinolishe won a header with Williams and Kenny Clark’s volley was well cleared off of the line. T

hurrock’s failure to score when on top cost them minutes later when Warren McBean slotted home well after being put through by Nic McDonnell.

Thurrock came out firing for the second half and levelled a minute in when Leon McKenzie stabbed home at the second attempt. Unbelievably, minutes later Thurrock manager Hakan Hayrettin was sent off for swearing at the referee, a charge he vociferously denied.

Thurrock continued to dominate and took the lead 20 minutes into the half when Campara’s fantastic cross was headed onto his bar by a defender and McKenzie scored his second of the game. A minute later McKenzie was desperately unlucky not to have a hat-trick when his flicked shot was well saved by Williams.

Charlie Howard went close with a quarter of an hour to go when he volleyed just over.

With one minute to go, Bromley equalised when McBean stabbed home after a scramble following a free kick.

Thurrock still had a chance to win the game but Howard shot just wide.
