Thurrock were unlucky to lose out in Saturday’s Blue Square South clash in Dorset, losing out by the odd goal in seven in a real festive thriller.

Fleet made the perfect start with a goal from Leon McKenzie in the second minute.

Wes Fogden equalised on 34 minutes and Jamie Mudge gave them the lead just three minutes later.

However, Mark Wright ensured the borough side went in at the break on level terms when he scored right on the whistle.

Mudge scored his second and the Magpies’ third four minutes into the second period and he completed his hat trick with 20 minutes remaining.

David Bryant ensured the majority in the 357 crowd had a nervy end when he pulled a third back for Thurrock, but Dorchester held on for three valuable points that take them above their opponents.
